We will finally be launching our program this January 2020. This program will provide extra benefits on top of the National ACF membership benefits to our Grand Rapids members. We are partnering with local professional partners for discounts on services and goods to support our food service industry. We will also be partnering with local restaurants to allow our ACF members in Grand Rapids to have a special discount at their operation. Lastly, we are still working on a solution for individual health insurance that is affordable as well as adequate. If your interested in being a partner with our chapter in our Chef’s with Benefits program, please reach out to David Olson directly as he is steering the ship on this very special program. IRON CHEF!OUR OWN CHEF JENN FILLENWORTH AND CHEF DAVID OLSEN MC’D THE IRON CHEF COMPETITION! A couple of BIG “thank you’s” to Chef Jenn, Chef Matthew, Chef Justin, Chef Andrew and Chef Shawn. You invested a great deal of blind faith and support into this event. You helped secure KCTC student volunteers, made important calls, marketed via social media, conducted television and radio appearances, secured chefs-restaurants; judged at the event (and corralled judges), competed on-stage (Chef Matt and Chef Jason of Kent County Club WON the Public Vote!!!), and offered your experience and expertise throughout the process to help re-launch this event. In short, you are not just chefs, you are miracle workers!!! The goal of the foundation was to have 200 attendees at the Northern Jet Hanger. By the end of the evening, the count was closer to FIVE HUNDRED. This would not have happened without you!! While there are countless opportunities for improvement of the event, this was a great evening and received incredibly well by attending guests. Next year will be even bigger and better |
